Blue plastic buckets (10 litre), water
The floor of the space was covered with buckets which where filled with water to their 10 litre mark, prior to the opening. The water surfaces in the buckets created a mirror plane, reflecting the walls and ceiling of the space.
The water was left to evaporate. This caused the mirror plane to gradually disappear and the temperature to feel considerably cooler.
During the month-long exhibition, between one and three litres of water evaporated from each bucket, depending on its place in the room. The differing levels indicated how the exposure to sunlight, air-flow and heat varied in the space.
All in all, more than 300 litres of water evaporated during the exhibition.
